Conceived as a landmark project for the Abu Dhabi corniche, the 84-storey J1 Residential Tower is a 22nd Century ‘bio-architectonic’ building that explores beyond the notion of architecture as a static art form. Its entire skin is made up of movable panels that are activated by the wind to create a constantly changing external surface, generating energy as they move and feeding surplus energy back into the supply grid.
