KL Envoy

The KL Envoy proposal is a mixed use development designed as a prestigious landmark destination in central Kuala Lumpur. It will complement and expand the predominantly commercial uses of the surrounding precinct and create a highly desirable residential address with a strong identity and sense of place.

The development will consolidate and integrate the fragmented urban fabric along Jalan Ampang, providing a permeable plaza-like connection between the highway’s edge and the quieter residential and commercial zones to the north of the site. Two elegant and highly articulated residential towers will dominate the skyline view and reinforce the development’s landmark status with dynamic fluid forms animated by undulating balustrades.

The typical residential tower of this scale is based on a floor plate of approximately 1000m2. This proposal is offers a floor plate of approximately 2000m2 and 2400m2 (Towers 1 and 2 respectively) with a single core, resulting in significantly greater material and servicing efficiency. In addition, the layout is flexible and adaptable to a wide range of possibilities.

The overall plan is organized around a framework of landscaped thoroughfares and public open spaces designed to facilitate vital pedestrian dominance and activity within a human scale environment in the heart of the development. The design responds to the climate and the need for shade. The scale of spaces and movement paths through the development provide shaded and weather protected areas that will allow comfortable public activity. The design also proposes an environmentally sustainable development featuring the latest in resource and energy conservation and minimization of carbon emissions.
